WINGS SET TO HOLD OPEN TRYOUT AND DEVELOPMENT CAMP

PHILADELPHIA (August 17, 2021) – Philadelphia’s own National Lacrosse League franchise, the Philadelphia Wings, will hold its inaugural 2021 Wings Player Tryout and Development Camp. The two-day camp will be held at Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, N.J. October 16-17 and will expand the team’s scouting reach and talent evaluation which was cut back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organized and run by reigning NLL General Manager and Head Coach of the Year Paul Day and his coaching staff, the 2021 tryout and development camp will provide local talent the platform to put their talents on display and take a shot at a professional lacrosse career.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our typical scouting and evaluation processes were dramatically impacted. This open tryout and development camp is the perfect opportunity to get a firsthand look at some of the talent we know exists but were unable to see,” said Wings Head Coach, Paul Day. “We are aware of the skill level of lacrosse talent that exists around the Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic area and are excited to potentially identify players who could contribute to a championship squad.”

The open tryout and development camp will create accessibility to a larger prospect pool and encompass two full days of structured drills, scrimmages, and opportunities for prospects to prove their skills to Wings leadership.

“We believe that lacrosse is for everyone. We are proud to offer this opportunity to anyone who believes they have the talent to compete alongside the best in the world,” said Wings President, Marc Zamarin. “We are on a mission to bring a championship to Philadelphia, and welcome anyone who can help us achieve that goal.”

Players who are eligible to attend the event must be at least 21 years of age and currently not NLL draft eligible. The registration fee for the Wings’ development camp is $190 and includes a secured tryout slot and camp jersey.

Those who are eligible should register now as space is limited. Click here to register for the Philadelphia Wings Open Tryout and Development Camp. To review draft eligibility rules, click here.
