The Wings are committed to growing the game of lacrosse in our community through various youth and grassroots initiatives. Through Sticks for Students, a free assembly program, we hope to introduce the sport to new future players, fans, or even members of the front office staff.

 

 

The Program:

Sticks for Students includes a presentation with a Jeopardy-style game show for students to learn and get engaged. The game show gets students involved in activities like stretching and relay competitions, while also covering topics on health and lacrosse.

The program features the Wings mascot, Wingston, current Wings players, and staff members.

Benefits:

For Students

• Students will receive one (1) complimentary ticket to a Wings home game along with the option to buy additional tickets at a discounted rate.
• Students will be sent information on how to register for current youth programs with the Wings.

For Schools and Educators

• A complete set of equipment for a full PE class including: 2 pop-up goals, 30 sticks, and 30 balls.
• The lead instructor at each program will also receive a manual full of lacrosse drills, a video demonstrating the skills needed to teach lacrosse from Wings players, and the contact information for a Wings staff member who will be able to provide any additional information and answer any questions that might aris

School Requirements:

• Schools must have a gymnasium or cafeteria space to host an assembly
• The assembly space should include power as well as a screen/smartboard/tv to display a brief video
• Assembly must be made available to the entire grade(s).
• Individual submitting the application must be a school administrator or faculty member.
