Wings to Select First Overall in 2024 NLL Draft

The Wings weren’t in action Saturday night, but a game with huge implications for the Wings 2024 offseason took place in Halifax as the Thunderbirds defeated the Colorado Mammoth 14-10.

At the trade deadline, Paul Day traded forward Taggart Clark to the New York Riptide in exchange for their first round selection in the 2024 NLL draft, which coincidentally was from the Colorado Mammoth. After the trade, the Mammoth have gone 1-4, losing their final four games of the season. This losing run sealed Colorado’s fate at the bottom of the NLL standings, and clinched the first overall pick for the Wings in the 2024 NLL Draft.

For the first time in their modern era, the Wings will have the pick of the litter in the draft. This NLL Draft in particular is extremely intriguing, as it includes big names like CJ Kirst, Brennan O’Neill, and Sam English.

The Wings wrap up their regular season tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Rochester Knighthawks in Rochester at 3PM. You can tune into the game on Philly57 or ESPN+.
