Wings lose nail biter in OT against Buffalo

The Wings scored 12 goals on the first place Bandits and took them into overtime, but ultimately their efforts weren’t enough to stop Dhane Smith. Smith’s 5 goals and 5 assists (including the overtime winning goal) powered the Bandits to their league leading 8th win of the season.

For the Wings, Mitch Jones led the scoring front with 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) while Joe Resetarits and Ben McIntosh scored hat-tricks. Sam Leclair and Blaze Riorden also scored 2 goals each.

After a bye-week, the Wings will be back for a make or break month of March where they play 6 games, all against eastern conference opponents. If the Wings hope to get back into the playoff race, they’ll have to prove that they have what it takes in March, and it all gets started with 2 games in 3 days as the Wings host the New York Riptide on Saturday March 4th, and then welcome the Toronto Rock back to Philly on Monday, March 6th.
