PHILADELPHIA WINGS at CALGARY ROUGHNECKS – Saturday, February 24, 2024

The Philadelphia Wings visit the Calgary Roughnecks tonight in their ninth game of the year and fifth on the road. The Wings hit the halfway point of the season looking for a second consecutive win after taking a 10-8 victory in Las Vegas last week to end a three- game losing streak. The Wings are playing a second consecutive road game before a stretch where they’ll play five of six at home to start the second half of the campaign. It will begin next weekend with a rematch between these two clubs as Calgary comes to Philadelphia for a 1pm start next Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT

Friday, February 16 – Wings 10, Las Vegas 8: Joe Resetarits bagged five goals, four of which came in the first half, and Mitch Jones tied his own franchise record by assisting on eight of the Wings’ 10 goals in a stingy victory over Las Vegas. The Wings scored the first two goals of the contest but the Desert Dogs were pesky in the early going, scoring five of the next six tallies to take a 5-3 lead 2:37 into the second quarter. The Wings took over from there, outscoring Las Vegas 7-3 the rest of the way of a contest that only saw six second-half goals between the teams. Ben McIntosh added a pair for Philadelphia and also provided three assists for a five-point game, while Taite Cattoni, Sam LeClair and Chad Tutton each added a goal apiece. Zach Higgins needed to make just 36 saves on 44 Vegas shots, while Nick Rowlett had the best face-off night of his young NLL career with a 14-for-22 performance.
