The Philadelphia Wings announced today the team will host HEADstrong Night presented LifeBrand when the Wings face off against the Halifax Thunderbirds on Saturday, February 26 at Wells Fargo Center. The Wings are teaming up with the HEADstrong Foundation to spread awareness of and support the foundation’s mission to offer financial, residential, and emotional support to families affected by cancer.
“We are honored to host this special game to bring awareness to the incredible work HEADstrong Foundation does to support those in their battle with cancer,” said Marc Zamarin, President of the Philadelphia Wings. “We are looking forward to a night dedicated to sharing their mission and supporting their amazing cause.”
HEADstrong Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides emotional, financial, logistical and residential support to local and national families battling cancer. Established by the late Nicholas Colleluori in 2006, the organization is headquartered in the Philadelphia suburbs. Locally, HEADstrong operates Nick’s House, a guest residence for families displaced to the region in pursuit of advanced cancer care and clinical trials.

In their efforts to grow the game and support organizations in the Philadelphia community, Wings Charities made a donation of $5,000 to HEADstrong Foundation to purchase shoulder pads and lacrosse sticks for George Washington High School and C.C.A. Baldi Middle School’s lacrosse programs. The donations will help the school’s lacrosse programs and grow the game of lacrosse at the scholastic level. Wings forward Kevin Crowley presented the new equipment to the students and handed out Wings t-shirts and tickets to the upcoming HEADstrong Night game.
“It was really cool to meet these kids and see the difference a donation like this will make for their lacrosse programs,” said Kevin Crowley, Wings Forward. “We look forward to seeing them in the stands on the 26th.”
