Wings Charities is proud to invest in the future of lacrosse through the Growing the Game grant. This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers and expand access to the sport by supporting communities and programs in need of financial assistance, equipment, repairs, programming and coaching resources.
This year, Harlem Lacrosse Philadelphia has been selected to be the recipient of the Wings Charities Growing the Game grant.
Harlem Lacrosse is a national nonprofit that empowers youth through education, mentorship, and athletics to help students transition successfully to college and careers. Their mission is to provide opportunities, relationships, and experiences that help under-resourced communities facing systemic inequities in public education to succeed as scholars, athletes, and citizens.
Founded in 2011, Harlem Lacrosse now operates 39 programs in middle and high schools serving 1,200+ students across Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Los Angeles. The Philadelphia chapter launched in 2017 and now operates 6 programs in Olney, North Philadelphia, serving 185 students annually (grades 6–12).
