Springfield, PA’s Brooklyn Vaughan Gets Opportunity of a Lifetime to Join Wings Broadcast Team During College Night

Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Wings Professional Lacrosse Team will see a new face join its broadcast team tonight on NBC Sports Philadelphia+. Temple University journalism major Brooklyn Vaughan will hit the turf as the team’s sideline reporter when the Wings face off against the Georgia Swarm during College Night on Friday, January 31 at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Philadelphia+. Vaughan joins Brian Smith (play by play) and Scott Gabrielsen (analysis) on tonight’s broadcast.

“We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate College Night than to provide the opportunity for a local student to immerse herself in the sports and entertainment industry by joining our broadcast team during this game,” said Lindsey Masciangelo, Chief Operating Officer, Philadelphia Wings. “In partnership with Temple University, we selected Brooklyn Vaughan, who is emerging as a rising star in the industry and will bring the right amount of energy and enthusiasm to this role.”

A junior at Temple University in the Klein College of Media and Communication, Brooklyn is the American Athletic Conference Campus Connect Reporter, covering all of Temple’s varsity sports. She is an anchor for OwlSports Update, Temple’s student-run, award-winning, live sports production show, which airs on TUTV — Temple’s public access channel. Last fall, Vaughan became the first female host for the station’s hour-long football show, Inside the Nest. Vaughan serves as the President of the Sports Media Society for Women at Temple, an organization that she and three others established to advance the network of like-minded women in the industry and emphasize the importance of women in the sports industry.

Vaughan hails from Springfield, PA and graduated from Springfield High School, where her passion for broadcast journalism developed. She hopes to pursue a long and successful career in the sports broadcasting industry after she graduates from Temple University in May 2021.
